Pittsburgh Recovery Walk
September 14, 2019 at 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
FreeAddiction affects everyone. The good news is: So does recovery. Everyone whose life has been touched by addiction or recovery is invited to take part in the Pittsburgh Recovery Walk on Saturday, September 14, 2019, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Downtown Pittsburgh. The annual, one-mile walk coincides with National Recovery Month, and celebrates the many roads to recovery and all who have traveled them. It also aims to dispel the negative stigma associated with recovery and recognizes recovery as a positive force in our community. Everyone is welcome!
The walk, which is free and open to the public, starts in the parking lot at 11th and Waterfront (across from the Heinz History Center) and proceeds down Penn Avenue, takes a right turn on 7th Street, and returns to 11th and Waterfront via the Three Rivers Heritage Trail on the southern side of the Allegheny River. (Note: The cost to park is not included. Organizers encourage the use of public transportation or bicycles when possible.)
Pittsburgh Mercy is proud to be a recovery partner and member of the Pittsburgh Recovery Walk Steering Committee. We invite you to join Pittsburgh Mercy’s Recovery Walk team and to stop by our table at the start/finish line. For more information about joining Team Pittsburgh Mercy, please contact Pittsburgh Mercy Recovery Walk team captain Halee Stroup at HStroup@pittsburghmercy.org or 412-728-8843.
Advance registration is encouraged, but not required. Participants may also register at the starting line. Registration opens at 8 a.m. The walk begins at 10:15 a.m.
