Join Pittsburgh Mercy as a sponsor of NAMI Keystone Pennsylvania’s annual Child and Adolescent Mental Health Conference, “Resilient Youth: Strategies to Overcome Adversity” on Friday, February 28, 2020, from 7:30 am until 4:30 pm, at Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, 777 Aten Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108. This day-long event will provide a better understanding of the newest research and best practices to assist and advance the mental health needs of young children, adolescents, and young adults. The keynote presenter is Suzanne A. Levy, PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist and director of the Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT) Training Program at Drexel University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions. Dr. Levy’s presentation will focus on suicide prevention and how parents, caregivers, and educators can communicate with a young person who is experiencing depression and/or suicidal thought and behaviors. The plenary speaker is Kate Ftizsimons, an international youth speaker, student resilience specialist, and one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence. The conference is designed for parents and caregivers, mental health professionals, educators, and students.
