A Community Forum on Opioids & Heroin: The Killers in Our Neighborhoods

September is National Recovery Month. Rick Moody and Latisha Lewis, both from Pittsburgh Mercy, will participate in “A Community Forum on Opioids & Heroin: The Killers in Our Neighborhoods,” Thursday, September 27, 2018, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, McCann Hall, 1810 Belasco Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15216 (Beechview). This event is free and open to the public.

The session will focus on:

• How we got here
• Identifying drug use
• The impact of drug use on individuals, families, and communities
• Intervention and prevention
• Treatment options
• What’s being done.

Panelists will also be available to answer questions. Several providers will be available to help connect the public to community resources and treatment providers.

The event is presented by the Allegheny County Coalition for Recovery, Public Awareness Committee and he City of Pittsburgh Police Zone 6.
