6th Annual Lifesharing Conference
October 15, 2018 at 8:00 am - October 16, 2018 at 5:00 pm
TBDThe Pennsylvania Lifesharing Coalition will host its 6th Annual Lifesharing Conference, October 15-16, 2018, at the scenic Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Seven Springs, Pa.
Lifesharing is an alternative living arrangement for persons who have an intellectual disabilities diagnosis. Lifesharing is defined as sharing your home and supporting an individual in all aspects of life, including but not limited to maximizing physical, medical, and spiritual growth.
Pittsburgh Mercy is proud to sponsor this year’s conference.
The mission of the Lifesharing Coalition and conference committee is to bring awareness to families and persons interested in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Light a Spark, Start a Lifesharing Firestorm.” As in years past, the conference’s main objective is to embrace and support Lifesharing and the philosophies of self-determination and everyday lives across the state.
Kristen Mattei, who has a decade of experience supporting people with disabilities and understands the challenges from the ground, up will deliver the keynote address. The conference also includes breakout presentations, the presentation of the Excellence in Lifesharing Awards, training hours, a bonfire, and much more.
The conference is open to providers, families, and others interested in learning more about Lifesharing.
The cost will be announced in late summer. Please check back for details.
